A Fiasco hits Leavey

Acclaimed hip hop artist Lupe Fiasco will play tomorrow night in the Leavey Center. The Activities Programming Board is sponsoring the concert as the crux of the Welcome Weekend activities. Fiasco is the biggest act Welcome Weekend has featured to date. Tickets went on sale on Saturday, and floor seats sold out Monday morning.

Fiasco burst onto the popular music scene in early 2006 when he was featured on Kanye West's hit single "Touch the Sky." Fiasco leads a current trend of earnest, young emcees whose social awareness and intellect permeate the hip hop status quo. His latest studio effort, "The Cool," received praise from a broad range of audiences and critics alike.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. The show will also feature The Knux. Balcony seats are available for $5.
