Athlete of the Week: Erin Hartwig, Cross Country

How do you prepare for a race?

The day before a race I always make sure that I drink enough water and get a good night's sleep. Then the day of I always have a bagel and banana for breakfast. I also try to make sure I stay calm.

What does setting a personal record mean to you?

Setting a PR is a great thing for a runner. It's a way of measuring your progress throughout the season and how fit you are. Getting a new PR is a huge confidence boost, and I think confidence is a huge part of running well.
