Britney gets a little nasty in new album
By Cheryl Noland
You've got to admit, Britney Spears has got it all: fame, money, looks, one hot boyfriend and, knowing teenyboppers, another hit album on her hands.
Britney's third effort, Britney uses the same magic formula that has enticed both male and female fans alike since 1999's "Baby One More Time." Once again, Britney toys with her angel or devil persona on her raunchy first single, "I'm A Slave 4 U," produced by in-demand hip-hop collaborators The Neptunes. On another deluding song, "Boys," what exactly is Britney insinuating when she croons, "let's turn this dance floor into our own little nasty world?"
A surprisingly tougher Britney appears on the RandB influenced, "What It's Like To Be Me," with backup vocals from none other than boyfriend Justin Timberlake of 'N Sync. Britney continues with the attitude on the remake of the Joan Jett and The Blackhearts 1981 smash, "I Love Rock 'n' Roll." But she tones it down with her only ballad, "I'm Not A Girl, Not Yet A Woman," from her upcoming movie (that's right: movie), Crossroads.
Let's just say divas Celine Dion and Mariah Carey have nothing to worry about.
No, you're not going to find any Grammy-award winning material on Britney, but pop this CD in your stereo, and you'll definitely wanna get up and shake your groove thing. A-
