MEN'S SOCCER

Gonzaga 2, Santa Clara 1 (OT)

90 minutes were not enough to decide this match-up in the Northwest last Thursday. After a scoreless first half by both teams, Gonzaga's George Josten put his team up in the 56th minute. 19 minutes later, sophomore defender Jamil Roberts tied the game from 18 yards out. However, it was the Bulldogs who eventually came out on top with Grant Lundberg's score in the 97th minute.

Portland 1, Santa Clara 0

In a game which would decide their West Coast Conference fate, the Broncos dropped a 1-0 decision at a soaking wet Merlo Field in Portland. Right before the end of the first half, Portland's Alex Elliott had a scoring opportunity in a face-off against Bronco goalkeeper Kevin Sweeney. Elliott was able to capitalize by blasting it into the upper left corner of the net. The loss was Santa Clara's third in four matches as they lost the WCC title to USF.

VOLLEYBALL

San Diego 3, Santa Clara 2

In their first conference loss, volleyball dropped the fifth game of the match 15-8, losing to the Toreros at the Jenny Craig Pavilion.

California 3, Santa Clara 2

Playing in Berkeley, the Broncos lost their third game of the year and second in a row. Sophomore middle blocker Anna Cmaylo led the team in kills (13) and blocks (5), but it was not enough as No. 12 Santa Clara dropped the second, fourth and fifth games to No. 13 Cal.
