Broncos Read

Undoubtedly you've received (and most likely disregarded) several e-mails about SCU's newest program, Broncos Read! At the inaugural event this morning, a group of librarians and friends gathered in the outdoor patio area of the library to witness the unveiling of the Inaugural Broncos Read Poster! The pep band played, Bucky the Bronco brought along a picture book, and I tried to stifle my laughter at the pomp surrounding a glorified reading campaign for university students.

Don't get me wrong- I like the idea. University students, reading.. books, university students. It sounds nice, doesn't it?

I understand the event is in honor of National Library Week, coming up in April. But who on earth thought this was a good idea?

It's like straight out of a children's movie!
