Trenches dug behind Swig, near McLaughlin
Areas behind Swig Residence Hall and between McLaughlin Residence Hall and Kenna Hall have been dug up to allow for "decentralized telecommunications" when the new library opens, according to Joe Sugg, assistant vice president of university operations.
Sugg estimated the trenching project will last for a couple more weeks, though he did not have a definitive completion date.
Graham Courtyard fenced off to fix grass
The grass in the Graham Courtyard, where there was a swimming pool until summer 2004, has been fenced off to allow for better draining, said Joe Sugg, assistant vice president of university operations.
During the rainy winter months, the grass had accumulated water and became mushy because it wasn't collecting drain water properly, Sugg said. The project will mound the grass, allowing water to run off rather than collect. It will be completed in summer and the caution tape around the courtyard will remain until the grass dries, Sugg said.
