Student's memorial Tuesday

A memorial mass celebrating Nenveh Essa's life will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 17 in the Mission Church.

The mass will be at 12:05 p.m. Essa's parents will be in attendance. Essa, a senior accounting major, died in a car accident Sept. 22.

Blood drive in Benson

A blood drive organized by the Stanford Blood Center will be in the Benson Parlors, Oct. 25.

The drive will go from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Donors must be at least 17 years old and 110 pounds and have no symptoms of a cold or flu. They must also bring a photo ID.

Gay priest speaks on sexual identity

James Alison, a gay Catholic theologian and priest will speak on Monday, Oct. 16 at 7 p.m. in Daly Science 206.

Alison will lecture on contemporary issues of faith and culture, such as sexual identity, violence and the meaning of Christianity today.

Causes and effects of domestic violence discussed

Santa Clara Community Action Program is organizing a discussion on the causes and effects of domestic violence on men, women and children in the local community, and the world, Tuesday Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. in the Sobrato Commons.

The event is part of Domestic Violence Awareness month.
