Off-campus sexual assault being investigated by police
Santa Clara police are investigating an alleged sexual assault of an undergraduate by another student, which occurred at an off-campus residence Feb. 23.
A police spokesman could give no further information regarding the incident except to say that a sexual assault investigation involving Santa Clara students was underway.
This is the second reported case of off-campus sexual assault this month, in addition to a student who was arrested on suspicion of domestic violence in January.
Campus Ministry to host reconciliation service

Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with a priest or a laywoman.
Graham and Campisi to close for part of spring break
Graham and Campisi residence halls will both be closed during parts of spring break due to power outages, housing officials announced in an e-mail sent out Wednesday.
Campisi will be closed from March 26 until March 28 due to a total power outage that will be happening in the building. During this time Campisi will be closed and all residents will be required to make other living arrangements.
Graham will only be closed for eight hours during the day on March 26. Graham residents may stay there overnight, but must vacate the building for that eight hour period.
All other campus residence halls will be open for spring break.
Santa Clara Democrats win award, plan to host event
The Santa Clara College Democrats recently won a state-wide award for registering more students to vote in a voter registration drive earlier this year than any other school in their "small colleges" division, College Democrats Public Relations Director Kristina Pereira Tully said Tuesday.
The award was given by the California College Democrats, and included a $1,000 reward for the organization.
This month, the College Democrats will be hosting former Marine Jeff Patterson, who will be giving a talk titled, "Stop the War: A former Marine's Passionate Plea for Peace."
Patterson, who had served in South Korea; Okinawa, Japan; the Phillipines and Hawaii, refused to be deployed to Saudi Arabia for the gulf war after becoming disillusioned with the military, making him the first active military resister for the Gulf War. Since then, Patterson has become an influential speaker nationwide, and has appeared on television programs including Larry King Live and ABC's Nightline.
The event will take place on Thursday March 9 at 5:30 p.m. in the Wiegand Room in the Arts and Sciences building.
