Senior admissions official leaving

Charles Nolan, vice provost for enrollment management, is leaving Santa Clara for a position as vice president for external relations at Olin College, Boston.

Nolan, originally of Boston, helped to implement the university's current method of financial aid awards, the "Maguire" model. The model optimizes the amount of funds available by identifying students most likely to enroll to offer aid.

Health insurance deadline extended

The deadline to turn in student health forms to Cowell Health Center has been extended to May 23.

Students who miss the deadline to submit a proof of insurance waiver could be charged with the premium for Santa Clara sponsored health insurance.

As of this year, Santa Clara requires all proof of health insurance to be submitted online. Hard copies will not be accepted by the insurance coordinator. Instructions can be found on the Cowell website.

Students discuss racism

As part of Human Dignity Week, a discussion will be held Friday at noon about racist labels and student experiences with them on campus.

The discussion follows in the wake of last quarter's panel discussion about racism on campus.

The event is also part of the Multicultural Center-sponsored "Racism Awareness" month this May.
