Catch up on your summertime reading
Only three weeks until summer means that we only have three more weeks of foresaking pleasure reading to pore over soulless textbooks. For those of you without a stack of books waiting to be read, here are a few suggestions to get you started:
1) "The Da Vinci Code" - Without a doubt the hottest book of the year, this one is an obvious choice. It takes a controversial look at the role of women in the Catholic church, and will keep you turning the page. If you haven't read Dan Brown's international murder mystery, run, don't walk, to the bookstore.

2) "Moneyball: The Art of Winning an Unfair Game" - Michael Lewis' book on the 2002 Oakland A's season looks at how General Manager Billy Beane took the team with the lowest payroll in major league baseball and led them to the American League playoffs, where they were competitive with the richest teams in baseball. Sports-lovers are sure to enjoy it.

3) "What Color is Your Parachute?, 2004: A Practical Manual for Job-Hunters and Career-Changers" - The updated version of Richard Nelson Bolles' classic career guide has been referred to as the "job-hunters' bible." Whether you're looking for a summer job or a lifelong career, it will give you inspiration. Yes, it's summer, but you're going to have to graduate eventually.

4) "Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix" - The latest installment of the J.K. Rowlings' series finds teenage wizard Harry in his fifth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. We won't say more than this for people haven't read the first four books, but even if you're not usually into fantasy, they're all worth reading.

5) "The Wedding" - Nicholas Sparks, author of "A Walk to Remember" and "Message in a Bottle," has written a sequel to his popular novel "The Notebook." It's a quick read and perfect for beach reading.
