Dalai Lama visits San Jose

On Tuesday, October 12th, His Holiness, the 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet held two public events at the Event Center Arena at San Jose State University.

In the morning, he addressed the Tibetan and Himalayan communities in a special audience in the San Jose Convention Center, which was adjacent to the hotel he was staying at, and in the afternoon the Dalai Lama gave a commentary on the Eight Verses for Training the Mind to a capacity crowd of 12,000 people at the Convention Center.

The Event was organized by organized by the Geden Shoeling Tibetan Manjushri Center of Westminster, CA.

In addition to Buddhist teachings on October 12 and 13, the Dalai Lama will be spending two days at Stanford University where he will participate in a series of programs entitled: Compassion, Science, & Society.

On October 14th, the Dalai Lama will give a public talk on The Centrality of Compassion in Human Life and Society and on the 15th, he will participate in a conference on Scientific Explorations of Compassion and Altruism.
