Amy Anderson

Unlike her name, comedian Amy Anderson is Korean American. She was adopted and raised by a Swedish family in Minnesota where her inevitable comedy career took flight. She was a finalist in the 2002 NBC/Laugh Factory Open Mic Competition. She will be performing at the Bronco from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event is free and is sponsored by the Center for Multicultural Learning as part of Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. Kraftwerk

Electric Six

Out of the Great Detroit Rock Hothouse and into the void fly Electric Six, whose bizarre genetic splicing of punk, new wave, disco and arena rock provides a total entertainment solution for the new breed of rock and roller. Rx Bandits

The Rx Bandits will be showing off their popular blend of punk, ska, and reggae at Oakland's iMusicast. The openers will be Brazil, Melee, Desa, and Facing New York. Ben Kweller

Indie rock singer/songwriter Ben Kweller will be performing on two consecutive nights at the Fillmore. On Monday, May 3, he will be joined by Death Cab for Cutie and On the Speakers, while on Tuesday, May 4, Death Cab for Cutie will be the headliners and Ben Kweller will open the show. "Feminism and the Possibility of Fat Liberation"

Marilyn Wann, creator of Fat! So? online magazine and Esther Rothblum, of the University of Vermont, Department of Psychology, will be speaking at this lecture, subtitled "I'll die for the revolution, but don't ask me not to diet." Music at Noon: Mariachi Azteca

The Bay Area's premiere Mariachi band, led by Juan Francisco "Pato" Diaz: Mariachi Azteca performs Ranchera, Polka, Corrido and Bolero.
