Diversity conference draws large crowd

This past Saturday, the first annual Diversity Leadership Conference, sponsored by Google, was hosted by the Office of Multicultural Learning.The conference was held in the Locatelli Center with an attendance of over 300 participants and students from numerous Bay Area Universities. Proceedings began with a panel of faculty from various universities including San Jose State and De Anza College, branched out into three session of workshops, and closed with Keynote speaker Jeff Chang, author of "Can't Stop, Won't Stop" on the topic of multiculturalism in the media and the context of the hip pop movement.

The event was featured in two articles, including a San Jose Mercury news highlight which addressed diversity in the Bay Area conference with comments and feedback.
