Election to come

Rachel Manfre and Umang Desai, the outgoing president and vice president of Associated Students, smiled as they thought back to the days following their election last year.

"We were excited," Manfre said. "Excited to be continuing in the organization and working for our fellow students."

The three tickets on Tuesday's ballot are Sean Brachvogel and Katherine Quinn-Shea, Andrea Carrera and Katherine Nicholson and Nicholas Duston and Richelle Neal.

The candidates will participate in a debate tonight at 6 p.m. in The Bronco.

In order to avoid a runoff election, the winning ticket will need at least 20 percent more votes than the next opponent, or more than 50 percent of the vote.

If a runoff election is needed, it will take place April 23.

Manfre and Desai won't be endorsing anyone, as they'd like the student body to decide. "We're just two of 5,000 students," Desai said.
