First Senate meeting of the year
The student senate met for the first time this past Thursday, their first meeting in the new Locatelli Student Activities Center. Senior Blake Martini was sworn in by Chief Justice Justin Gilio after a unanimous vote of approval by the rest of the senate for him to join the ranks. Martini has no previous experience on ASSCU but he did run alongside fellow senior Winston Yu during last year's ASSCU Presidential election. It was announced that the "Educated Partier" program will return once again winter quarter with some changes from last year's program, but the changes are yet to be announced.
Bronco Week is scheduled to run the week of Jan. 17, the same week men's basketball takes on the Gonzaga Bulldogs. The ASSCU yearly retreat will is scheduled t o take place Oct. 23-24. As of last Thursday, ASSCU's "Be Heard!' desk was missing, apparently misplaced during the renovation of Benson. Students were assigned to locate the desk before this Thursday's meeting if possible.
At tonight's senate meeting, 16 new clubs will be proposed and voted on. The meeting will begin at 7 p.m. in the Locatelli Student Activities Center and is open to any interested students.
