Letter to the editor
Dear Members of the SCU Community,
We speak a lot about the three C's at Santa Clara--competence, conscience and compassion -- and often add a fourth --community.
A unique time in which we are all invited to gather as one community is at the annual Mass of the Holy Spirit, to be held on Wednesday, October 7th at noon in the Mission Church.
While this is a Catholic liturgy, we welcome all to join us for this cherished tradition of our university.
We are grateful for the spiritual and religious diversity of our community, and hope that this liturgy will echo the hopes of all our hearts. The prayers call upon God's Spirit to be with us in all our endeavors, activities and relationships in the coming year.
Our President, Fr. Michael Engh, S.J., will preside and preach.
The Mass will be followed by a picnic luncheon on the St. Ignatius lawn.
Whether or not you are able to join our community at this liturgy, be assured that you will be remembered in our prayers.
With all best wishes for the coming year,
Fr. Jack Treacy, S.J.
Director of Campus Ministry
