Students urged to voice housing concerns

ARE YOU THINKING about your housing options for next year - either on campus or off campus? Associated Students is working to help you with this issue through several concerted efforts. Last Thursday at the Student Senate meeting we held the RLC Forum where students gathered with Linda Franke, representing Residential Learning Communities, and Helen Moritz, vice provost, to voice their concerns as well as support for the Office of Housing and Residence Life. We have already started to gather information and your suggestions regarding the RLC's, but I want to let you know that Associated Students would like your help in generating ideas. Please come to our office in downstairs Benson Room 1 or come to a Senate meeting on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. in the Benson Parlors to voice your ideas.

This week is the Off Campus Housing Fair. From Monday to Friday there will be a table with a banner that says "Got Housing?" where you can meet landlords from local off campus housing such as Park Centrals and the Alvisos. Come meet with students to learn about the application process and suggestions for how to secure the house or apartment where you want to live next year. If you do not get a chance to stop by the table this week, you can contact Mike Byer in Associated Students for more information or check out the Office of Student Life website for more information about off campus housing at http://scu.edu/studentlife/housing/.

Please let me know if there is something that you would like to see addressed or if you have suggestions or ideas for how to tackle issues such as on campus and off campus housing.
