Tune in for live updates as Santa Clara men’s basketball (22-5, 13-1 WCC) takes on the 12th ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs (24-2, 12-1 WCC) in a sold out matchup at the Leavey Center tonight in one of the most anticipated Bronco sports events in recent history. The matchup tips off at 7:30 P.M. PST.

(LAST UPDATED: 9:10 P.M): It has been a nail biter of a second half for both teams, with Gonzaga capitalizing on Santa Clara offensive mistakes and holding a 63-60 lead. However, the Broncos have stormed back, and the raucous Leavey Center has seen multiple lead changes in this battle. Elijah Mahi ‘26 has been a crucial player for the Broncos on the court tonight, coming up with some game changing baskets, turnovers, and fouls drawn to keep the Broncos fighting.

(8:30 P.M): Santa Clara trails Gonzaga 39-44 heading into the locker room. KJ Cochran ‘29 and Christian Hammond ‘28 lead the Broncos in scoring with 9 points each. The Broncos started out dominant in the paint, winning seemingly every rebound and forcing the Zags to make uncharacteristic mistakes. The momentum switched to the Zags’ side as the half neared, but the Broncos remained in the game with some key baskets from Hammond and Thierry Darlan ‘27 to keep the Gonzaga lead minimal.

(8:05 P.M.): Santa Clara leads Gonzaga 22-17 at the halfway point of the first half. A KJ Cochran ‘29 fast-break slam dunk brought the raucous Bronco crowd to life. The Broncos started off on fire, taking an early five point lead, but Gonzaga has stormed back and it has become a back-and-forth battle.
