Panel to discuss sustainable efforts in business next week
By Staff reports
The newly created Sustainable Business Studies Club will be holding an Inaugural Event April 14 at 7:30 p.m. in Lucas Hall's Forbes Family Conferences Room.
The event will be showcasing prominent leaders of the Silicon Valley along with members of the regional business community who will discuss the proper role of sustainability in the corporate world.
The panel will include several executives from top Silicon Valley Businesses. Brent Downing of Devcon Construction, Mukesh Khattar of Oracle, Katie Excoffier of Genetech, and Bruce Klafter of Applied Materials will be amongst the executives present at the event.
The Sustainable Business Studies Club was founded this year by co-founders Adrienne Syme and Emily Orbanek, who will moderate and facilitate a question and answer session following the discussion held by the executives.
The club was created because the founders saw a need for sustainability to have a larger presence in the education, culture, and community of the Business School, and already hold 75 members.
