SANTA CLARA, CA — In a heated matchup at the Leavey Center, Santa Clara Men’s Basketball secured a 90-80 win against Utah Tech, moving to 8-1 on the season. However, the statement win and Jalen Williams’ jersey retirement were not the only things making headlines.
With just over a minute left, Bronco guard Allen Graves ’29 ignited the crowd with a posterizing dunk over a Trailblazer defender. The same defender—appearing frustrated about being on the wrong side of a highlight-reel play—threw a punch at Graves, prompting a shoving match on the court. Officials intervened and the Utah Tech player was ejected, sparking a raucous reaction from the Santa Clara crowd.
The Broncos rode the emotional high, adding yet another commanding victory to this impressive opening stretch. They head on the road to face New Mexico on Saturday.
