Review invites all to publication party

By Sarah Clise

On Friday, March 3, from 5 - 7 p.m. in the California Mission Room, the magazine's staff is hosting this bash to promote the 93rd volume of the Santa Clara Review.

To celebrate the publication of the latest edition of the literary magazine, the entire student body is encouraged to attend the Santa Clara Review publication party.

This latest anthology distinguishes itself from previous volumes with its innovative new look and marked professionalism. Redesigned in size and style, its new appearance reflects the renown that it has gained in recent years.

Along with the submissions of stories, poems and artwork by Santa Clara students, more entries by professional artists have found their way into this issue than ever before.

The cover art was created by Manny Silva who has designed posters for the likes of Belle and Sebastian and Lifehouse. There is also an interview with Neil Gaiman, best-selling author of "Anansi Boys." Beverly Donofrio, author of "Riding in Cars with Boys," showcases her new non-fiction piece, "Fiction Block."

There will be free food, and music spun by DJ Pat Gerhardt and poetry readings. David Roderick, recipient of the American Poetry Review Honikman Prize for his collection, "Blue Colonial," will recite his poetry at 5:30 p.m. After his reading, Santa Clara students and faculty will share their own work.

Those who attend this party will not only leave with bellies full of free food, but will also go home with a copy of the latest Santa Clara Review.
