Ruff Riders give members free tickets to Gonzaga game
At the end of last Sunday's men's basketball game against USF, tickets were passed out to get Ruff Riders excited for the men's home basketball game against Gonzaga next Thursday January 20.
Every year, the Ruff Riders receive free admission to home sporting events. According to Ben Saulson, President of the Ruff Rider organization, bigger games like Gonzaga and Saint Mary's require advanced distribution of tickets. "It's a huge event on campus," says Saulson, "If there's going to be a game that everybody goes to, it's going to be the Gonzaga game. The reserved seats are already sold out and we're steadily working through general admission."
Santa Clara's alumnus networks shows up in force for the game as well as the surrounding community. Tickets are on pace to sell out.
According to Saulson, 1200 tickets were printed for the Ruff Riders, which is the most that has ever been printed for the Gonzaga game. Around 1100 tickets were given out at the end of Saturday's game. The remaining 100 tickets will be given out at regular distribution price.
Two hundred hundred tickets were also printed for the pep band's all-you-can-eat BBQ leading up to the game. Those tickets will be sold for $20 and include a ticket to the Gonzaga game. The money generated from those tickets sales benefits the pep band.
