By Margo Consul
Santa Clara has a long and rich soccer history. With the installment of Women's Professional League last year, the Broncos have been able to re-visit the soccer tradition surrounding the university.
Today, Santa Clara alumna Kiki Bosio may be another player to add to the list of Broncos that are playing in the WPS.
Bosio recorded 11 goals and 15 assists during her career at Santa Clara. However, she suffered from a knee injury during her junior year, that did not slow her down; she came back for her senior year and started in 19 of 21 matches played.
In 2009 she was a WCC preseason All-Conference selection and team captain. She was named WCC Player of the Week (9/21) for scoring the game winner against No. 23 Colorado and earning two assists in a 2-1 victory over Wisconsin at the Stanford/Nike Invitational. As a sophomore she was named to All-WCC First Team and finished the season with a team-best 20 points and tied for first on the team with seven goals.
