On Sunday afternoon, Santa Clara University women’s basketball was selected to play in the Women’s Basketball Invitational Tournament, or WBIT, where they will face third-seeded University of California, Berkeley on Thursday in Berkeley as part of the first round of the single-elimination tournament.

The Broncos, boasting a 24-9 record, have had an impressive campaign in head coach Loree Payne’s inaugural season at the helm. Their 13 conference wins are tied for the most in program history.

This is Santa Clara’s 14th postseason appearance and second time playing in the WBIT since its creation in 2024, where they won their home matchup against BYU.
