Storage made easier than ever

For a student body consisting of approximately 50 percent out-of-state students there is a high need for inexpensive storage options.Arthur Gallanter and Anthony Prieto recognized this need when they recently purchased Bronco Student Services (BSS) and did a complete overhaul of the storage service, making it much more convenient for students in terms of prices and transportation. For the past four years BSS has been offering a service called Door-to-Door; large wooden bins were brought to the Leavey center where students filled them with their belongings. Now, however, BSS will pick up the boxes directly from the students' dorms and take care of transportation to and from the storage facility, which is conveniently located only five minutes from campus.

The new storage system is much cheaper for students because they no longer have to pay the cost of renting a whole bin, instead they pay per box, which costs anywhere between $12 and $15. According to the numbers, students are responding well to the new service. This year 200 Santa Clara students used BSS to store their belongings for summer and fall, whereas in previous years only 60-70 students signed up. Storage services are not the extent of the reach of BSS. The company also offers a laundry service for on-campus students and has recently started a food delivery service, offered to students in every dorm except St. Clare.

Last year BSS started their food delivery service but only delivered to a select number of residence halls. The trials were obviously a success as they are now delivering to many more dorms.More will undoubtedly be seen from BSS, and for students looking for an on-campus option for storage, they hold the key.
