A female Santa Clara University student was taken to the hospital after being hit by a white Mazda while crossing El Camino Real at approximately 11:40 a.m., according to Campus Safety.
Campus Safety Officer TJ Cox said officers were notified after a contractor and a bystander reported the crash.
“A student was crossing the sidewalk when another vehicle struck her,” Cox said. “We were notified by a contractor, and then everybody was dispatched.”
Cox said the student was the only person injured in the collision. Emergency responders arrived at the scene and took her to a hospital by ambulance.
“They were able to get her into the ambulance and everything like that, so she’s OK,” Cox said.
No additional information was immediately available about the student’s condition or the driver.
