Web extra: Broncos defeat Stanford 62-46

All Santa Clara head coach Dick Davey wanted for Christmas were wins over Stanford and Kentucky. On Saturday Dec. 16, Davey received the first part of that wish, as the Broncos ran the Stanford Cardinal out of Maples Pavilion, winning 62-46. Behind guards Danny Pariseau and Brody Angley, the Broncos held the Cardinals to just 12 points in the first half.

New payment schedule pays CSO workers quarterly only

Over 150 student workers who were mostly paid bi-weekly and monthly are now getting a paycheck only once a quarter, thanks to a new university employment policy that has yet to be finalized. The affected students not only had to wait ten weeks for their paycheck, but the changes have tax implications for students that were previously taken care of by the university.

Web extra: Men's soccer advances with overtime win

The men's soccer team avoided an upset bid in the second round of the NCAA tournament Wednesday night by defeating the visiting Washington Huskies 3-2 in overtime at Buck Shaw Stadium. After giving up a 2-0 lead, the Broncos advanced onto the next round after sophomore Jide Ogunbiyi scored the game winner in the 95th minute.

Broncos knocked out in first round

Despite receiving one of four No. 1 seeds in the NCAA tournament, the women's soccer team failed to advance out of the first round for the first time in twelve years after a 1-0 loss to the Southern California Women of Troy ended their season last Friday.
