Women’s Basketball Starts Season with Dominant Win

Santa Clara University Women’s Basketball began their 2025-26 season with a dominating 108-52 win against Stanislaus State Monday night at the Leavey Center. 

Kylee Fox ’27, a transfer from Fresno State, led the Broncos with 18 points. Graduate guard Ashley Hawkins, the reigning 2025 Big South Player of the Year at Gardner-Webb, scored 16.  

The game was head coach Loree Payne’s and most of her team’s first game with the Broncos. Her roster consists of six freshmen, seven transfers and only two returning players from last season’s roster. 

The team plays next at Stanford on Thursday.
