Bronco Volleyball Wins Fourth Straight Game

Santa Clara volleyball defeated the University of Portland in five sets (25-15, 25-20, 20-25, 25-27, 15-13) on Saturday, Nov. 1 at home in the Leavey Center.
The Broncos started off strong winning the first two sets. Portland rallied back, winning the third and fourth sets. Two kills by Cate Shanahan ’27 capped off the fifth set and won the game for the Broncos.
Layla Truitt ’26 and Shanahan ’27 led the team with 17 kills each.
The victory brings the Broncos to seven conference wins already this season, matching their total of seven conference wins last season, with eight conference games yet to be played.
The Broncos win against Portland brought their win streak to four games. The last time Bronco volleyball won four games in a row was the Santa Clara/SJSU Invitational in 2023.
Santa Clara currently stands fifth in the West Coast Conference.
They play next at the University of San Francisco, who are 11th in the WCC standings, on Thursday, Nov. 6.
