Sash Gavalyugov ’28 Leads Men’s Basketball to Win Over LMU

Santa Clara University men’s basketball (14-5, 5-1 WCC) beat Loyola Marymount University (11-8, 2-4 WCC) 103-72 on Saturday at the Leavey Center.
Sash Gavalyugov ’28, a transfer from Villanova University, scored a career-high 37 points on 14-of-20 shooting. The performance earned him WCC co-Freshman of the Week honors.
Elijiah Mahi ’26 scored 17 points, and Allen Graves ’29 came off the bench to score 16 points in 17 minutes played.

The Broncos held the lead the whole game. The Lions shot only three percentage points less from the field, but the Broncos took 19 more shots resulting in the lopsided score line.
With this win, Santa Clara men’s basketball remains undefeated at home this season with a record of 9-0 at the Leavey Center.
