Clubs celebrate Water Week
By Staff reports
Throughout this week events are being held by the Ignation Center, the Environmental Studies Institute, and the Green Club in order to raise awareness regarding water conservation around campus.
A screening of the documentary "Blue Gold" was held on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. in Benson Conference Room 21. The documentary revolves around topics discussing global water privatization and students, faculty, and staff all had the opportunity to voice their opinions on how water should be conserved throughout our campus community, but especially in the Residence Halls, where usage is most commonly abused.
Another event will be held tonight from 7:30 — 8:30 p.m. in the Recital Hall. Sandra Postel will be holding a speech, open to audience dialogue, discussing strategies and means of resolutions for a water –stressed world.
Throughout the week, students are encouraged to stop waste, by carrying and using non-plastic, reusable water bottles. Changes as small as this can have an immense rebound affect on the reduction of waste that has continued to overwhelm our landfills.
