The Owl,Santa Clara University’s undergraduate arts publication, will host an evening of live music and poetry on Feb. 12. Taking place in the California Mission Room from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m., the event will feature performances by students.

Continuing their holiday theme after a previous Halloween-themed coffeehouse, they plan to feature a lineup of ten different groups. Eight of which will perform music, including campus bands Dental Insurance, Astrakinetic, and Solace.

On the writing side, a few poetry readings. “We invited our two poets who often submit to the Owl and are really passionate about their work,” said Jenny Chen ’28, editor in chief of The Owl.

Committing to the theme, students will be able to enjoy Valentine’s candy, sugar cookies, pink heart sunglasses and Valentine’s-themed cards. Costco pizza will also be available for students looking for a full meal in the evening.

The California Mission Room, located on the Swig Residence Hall side of Benson Memorial Center, is a central location on campus and is less than a five-minute walk from any of the campus’s dorms.
